Year 8 TMA student, Hannah R loves Art and her creative skills were recognised recently when she won the 2024 Healthy Young Minds Logo Competition.

The competition, run by CVSCE, working in partnership with Cheshire East Council, sought a logo that would represent the ethos of the new Healthy Young Minds Service, which delivers both services to children and young people and establishes a Health Young Minds Alliance in Cheshire East

Of 147 entries, it was judged that Hannah's logo successfully enhanced the themes of thriving, resilience and support and she has been actively involved in working with a design team to digitise her design.

Hannah said: "The ideas behind my logo were the hands to show the support you need, the vines to show how everything is linked together to help and the rainbow to show diversity. Seeing my logo digitally for the first time I felt really proud of myself and still couldn't believe I had won the competition.”

Macclesfield Academy Headteacher, Mat Galvin said: "We are so proud of Hannah.  Mental health continues to be a hot topic for all schools and we are no different.  Getting it right is essential for our whole community, be that students or staff."

At a presentation at school this week, Hanna received a trophy and certificate, as well as £500 to be used towards school wellbeing materials.  Present were representatives from the the judging panel, TMA and the Sir John Brunner Foundation as well as Hannah's parents.

Using the prize money, The Macclesfield Academy chose to purchase a Friendship Bench where students can sit and relax, on their own or with friends.
