Year 10 Careers Trip

On Monday 15th April Our Year 10 Students Visited The JD Careers Event In Manchester 

We took 40 of our year 10 students to an immersive careers event hosted by JD Sports as a special treat for their hard work and for consistently doing the right thing. The event was incredible, with students having the opportunity to sample a plethora of career options within a large enterprise company. They designed t-shirts and trainers; learnt about merchandising and buying; made Instagram reels with the Content Creation Team; photographed models for a live JD Sports shoot - the pictures being used for upcoming campaigns; they visited a retail unit and learnt about how all the elements come together to make a shop successful; they got the chance to experience the distribution centre with the Health and Safety, Packaging, Logistics and Sustainability teams all on hand with demonstrations; they smashed a work out with the JD Sports Gym team; they met with some of the biggest sportswear brands out there and even won fabulous prizes from some; and finally, they were surprised with a Q&A session with the Global MD and Chief People Officer along with a famous face which sent the room into uproar: Chunkz - a popular YouTuber and broadcaster 

On numerous occasions throughout the day, our staff members were approached by JD Sports colleagues with overwhelmingly positive feedback on our school. They told us that ours was by far the "best school they had hosted" and that are students made all their efforts worthwhile. We were rewarded with extra prizes and two of our lucky students Ella S. and Max C. were given the opportunity to meet with Chunkz in person before he was revealed on stage!
