Celebrating Outstanding Exam Results: A Testament to Excellence and Community
BackWe are delighted to announce that our remarkable success in this year’s exam results has placed us amongst the top two schools in Macclesfield and Congleton. Whilst we are quietly confident about our achievements, this milestone reflects what we strive for every day: fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and community.
At the heart of our success lies our unwavering commitment to our values:
• Learning Above All: Encouraging a lifelong passion for knowledge.
• Known and Valued: Ensuring every student is recognised and supported.
• Academic Excellence: Providing high-quality teaching and high expectations.
Our relational approach, guided by the principle that “no child is left behind,” has fostered a tight-knit and inclusive community. We are immensely proud to represent the diverse talents and high aspirations of our local area.
One of our standout achievements this year is being the most improved school in Cheshire East and West for Progress 8 — a key measure of student progress across eight key subjects and named 4th most improved in England. This means our students are making significantly more progress than the national average, reflecting the dedication of our staff, students, and families.
Mr Galvin, Headteacher said: “The outstanding results from Class of 2024 represent the successful culmination of a huge amount of work from our entire community. This kind of sustainable upward trajectory does not happen overnight but through a collective endeavour by our committed team.
“We’re confident we have a unique offer of a great first-class education at The Macclesfield Academy, with a Partner High School Pathway through to Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College, the highest performing College in the country.”
Mr Snelson, CEO of the Sir John Brunner Foundation added “I am thrilled by the outstanding achievements of the Class of 2024 across all Sir John Brunner Foundation academies. At The Macclesfield Academy, students are experiencing first-class education and achieving outcomes that truly reflect this excellence. A huge thank you to all our colleagues for making these remarkable outcomes possible!”
Beyond academic progress, we continue to excel in other fields, including sporting excellence, with students playing weekday and Saturday fixtures across a number of sports.
Mr Galvin commented: “These results are a testament to our collective efforts as a school and a community. Together, we will continue to build on this success, ensuring every student has the opportunity to flourish and achieve their full potential.”
