It's national Neurodiversity Celebration Week and TMA is raising awareness aournd the Academy!  Events have been going on all week  culminating in an event this afternoon for parents of children with SEN.  The guest speaker is Joan Sherry from the Cheshire East Autism Team, and we will be discussing strategies for supporting young people who are neurodivergent.

We are also hosting The Great TMA Bake off where students are invited to design and create a cake or biscuit representing Neurodiversity.  The closing date will be 2nd April which is also Autism Awareness Day and a bake sale will follow the judging.

Miss Young, who is championing Neurodiversity at TMA said "As part of our awareness campaign to encourage acceptance of neurodiversity we have posters across the school highlighting successful celebrities who are neurodivergent; this has stimulated much interest and discussion around school.  Our overall aim is to challenge the status quo and recognise the positive aspect that neurodiversity can bring to daily life at school."
